Risk Assessment & Care Planning
Turn risk assessments into safer care - not paperwork.
About the course
Learning that makes
a practical difference.
Risk assessment and care planning are central to safe, person-centred adult social care. Problems arise when assessments become tick-box exercises, risks are not updated as residents' needs change, or staff cannot translate an identified risk into practical actions.
This course teaches staff how to connect:
Assessment → Risk → Control Measures → Care Plan → Action → Monitoring → Review
Learners work through realistic care-home examples rather than simply completing forms.

The benefit to your service
Staff learn to understand why they are assessing risk - not simply how to complete a template. The programme helps create assessments and care plans that reflect the person's current needs, clearly identify actions for staff and are reviewed when circumstances change.
Read the course introduction
One issue we repeatedly see across social care is that a service may have a risk assessment in place, but that does not necessarily mean the risk is being managed.
A resident may be documented as at risk of falls, choking, dehydration or pressure damage - but what does that actually mean for the staff supporting that person today?
Our Risk Assessment and Care Planning course teaches staff to connect the whole process: identify the risk, decide how it will be managed, put those actions into the care plan, make sure staff follow them, monitor the person and review the assessment when things change.
We use realistic care-home examples rather than abstract theory.
The result is more meaningful care planning, clearer staff instructions and stronger evidence that identified risks are actually being managed in practice.
